The success of the lab is driven by a team of intelligent and creative researchers led by Dr. Weibel.

The Weibel Lab’s  research on Human-Centered and Ubiquitous Computing is at the intersection of computer science, cognitive science, design and the health sciences, and focuses on the design, development and evaluation of interactive pervasive sensing technology to support health and healthcare.

Our research is at the intersection of computer science, cognitive science, design and the health sciences, and focuses on the design, development and evaluation of interactive pervasive sensing technology to support health and healthcare.

We investigate, design and develop new tools, techniques and infrastructure that leverage the power of multimodal and pervasive sensing to track body and eye movements, speech, writing, as well as social interaction in the real world and online. This allows us to first capture, quantify and understand human behavior, and then support better interaction with information through design and development of human-centered ubiquitous computing technology that improve health and health care.

Our project areas range from software engineering to human computer interaction, particularly focusing on mobile health, computer supported cooperative work, medical informatics, mobile and ubiquitous computing.
